Chef Benjamin Winans
After 15 years of travel, food, and great people, Chef Ben is ready for more.
Since the age of 15, I have had a true love for the elements of cooking and entertaining. I was hired to be a busboy and I had a real taking to the excitement of the kitchen. I began assisting Chef Paul Jngenido at Perryville Inn in New Jersey with some simple prep. I began my search for jobs in the kitchen and studied the techniques on my way through each menu I came across.
I found many different techniques and menus ranging from the classic French cooking of Chef Tell of the Buck Hotel of Philadelphia to the famous, raw vegan restaurant Pure Food and Wine in Gramercy, New York, NY. Then taking a trip to South America and participating in the WWOOF program, I learned how to utilize the resources of the Earth gently to cultivate nourishment on small amazonian farms of Peru.
With continueed focus on my craft, I began working at LuxYoga in Torrettes sur Loup, France. I discovered my favorite aspects of cooking. The love of entertaining, cooking classes, and specially made days or nights that only great food and wine can create.
